Ram Katha Park is currently being improved and will soon be called Queen Heo Hwang-ok Memorial Park, named after a Korean queen with Indian heritage. It's said that this queen was born as Princess Suriratna in Ayodhya, the daughter of King Padmasen who ruled the ancient kingdom of Kosala. Her story can be found in a book called Samguk Yusa, which tells tales from the 13th century. Legend has it that when Suriratna was just 16 years old in 48 BC, she traveled from the ancient city of 'Ayuta' to Korea. There, she married Kim Suro, the king of a southeastern Korean state called Geumgwan Gaya. It's believed that her father sent her to this foreign land after having a dream, and she became the first queen of the new kingdom. This kingdom is thought to have been in what is now Gimhae city in Southern Gyeongsang province.

The memorial space was revealed in 2001 after India and South Korea agreed to make Gimhae and Ayodhya sister cities. Five years later, the South Korean group suggested renovating the memorial. Then, Prime Minister Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed a deal to improve the memorial. After the renovations, the park now has statues of the Queen and King on a platform, and there's also a pond symbolizing the princess's trip from India to South Korea. Additionally, there's a granite egg representing the golden egg she took with her on her journey.
